Welcome

I am Josef Venus, and I am entering my 3rd year at Lutcher High School. I am a graduate of Nicholls State University where I majored in secondary education with a concentration in Social Studies. I completed my student teaching at Archbishop Rummel High School, St. Charles Catholic, and Lutcher Elementary. .

In 2011 I Graduated of Lutcher High School and went on to LSU and would eventually finish at Nicholls State University when the opportunity to come home presented it self. 2018 will be my third year as serving as Offensive Line Coach for the Bulldogs. Most of my life revolves around sports, bust most of all family.

I feel the main goal of a history teacher is to bring to light the actions of men and women; good and bad. We can not move forward with out examining the mistakes made by the people that came before us. I hope to present the students with opportunities to get actively involved in what they are learning. My lessons are hands on and highly interactive students will work in groups and move around class to generate free thinking and develop a logical understanding of United States History.

Your children can count on me to be intense, animated, energetic and most of all passionate in everything I do. Each student that comes through the doors of Lutcher High School is searching for something. I feel it is our duty as educators not just to teach equations, subject-verb agreement, or US History facts but to help develop skills that will go beyond the classroom. I am excited to be teaching your children.
